What Is John Kerry Afraid of

What Is John Kerry Afraid of?

By Michael Reagan

When John Kerry slandered the president and the Republican Party by calling them crooks and liars, then backed up and said that he really meant something he called the "Republican attack machine," he was actually launching a preemptive strike against damaging revelations that Kerry knows is coming.

I donít know what it is thatís scaring Kerry out of his wits, but itís obvious he has something, or a lot of somethings, to hide beyond his already known and shameful public record of being on both sides of every important issue. Thereís a scent of panic here.

Kerryís comment was stupid; it put him down at gutter level where a man who wants to be President of the United States does not belong if he really hopes to win the White House. Throwing slime at a sitting President is hardly the way to convince the public to entrust him with the nationís highest office.

Remember Kerry and his fellow Democrats were grabbing handfuls of slime to throw at George W. Bush throughout the primary season.

During the primary campaign, Kerry and his partners in mud slinging called the President of the United States a liar; they called him a deserter; they said he was AWOL, offenses that are crimes, the first of which, desertion, is punishable by death in wartime.

Kerryís idol, Teddy Kennedy, actually charged that the President started the war on purpose, to create a political issue. It seems that the Democrats claim the freedom to lie, and slander, and say any rotten thing they want, but the moment that the President steps up and defends himself with facts, pointing out Kerryís record, how Kerry voted, and what Kerryís saying now, all of a sudden itís an "attack."

So itís not an attack for Democrats to lie about the President, but itís an attack for the Republicans to fire back with the indisputable facts about John Kerryís voting record. Itís simply outrageous that Kerry is given a free ride and allowed to say that the Republicans are the most evil people he ever met. This makes me want to advise Kerry that if he wants to see evil he should look at his own party, Ted Kennedy, or in the mirror at himself.

There are certain things Kerry wants to keep out of the debate. He canít stop telling us about his four months of service in Vietnam, but when Kerry is asked to release his military and health records as President Bush released his National Guard records, he flatly refuses to do so. May we ask why? Or is that an "attack."

Kerry doesnít want to talk about his attacks on the Americans who were dying in Vietnam while he was back home doing his Kerry dance with the likes of Jane Fonda and making nice with the butchers in Hanoi. You have to ask yourself why. But beware - if you do, you become a member of that dastardly Republican attack machine. George Bush is a legitimate target for every kind of lie and slander, but the sainted Senator Kerryís dubious past is out of bounds and off limits.

The real attack machine is George Soros, calling President Bush Adolf Hitler, and the sleazy MoveOn.org, and the Tides Foundation thatís financed by Sorosí multi-millionaire ultra left-wing wife. I pray that America will catch on to who and what Soros really is because if we donít the nation will be a big loser.

The bottom line is that we are in a war against terrorism, as the despicable bombing in Spain demonstrated once again. I want to win that war. George Bush wants to win that war and he knows how to do it. Itís not an attack to wonder if John Kerry, the Senateís most liberal member, simply wants to forget about the war and get back to the business of spending billions of taxpayersí dollars on a whole gaggle of socialist programs and raising our taxes to pay for those programs.

Mike Reagan, the eldest son of President Ronald Reagan, is heard on more than 200 talk radio stations nationally as part of the Radio America Network.
